KENAI RIVER FISHING LODGE
YOUR HOME BASE
ON THE KENAI
Four riverfront cabins and years of local expertise. We'll help you plan the Alaska fishing trip of a lifetime — from salmon to trophy trout to halibut.
A COZY RIVERSIDE BASECAMP
STAY ON THE RIVER.
FISH ALL OF ALASKA.
A cozy riverside basecamp with easy access to world-class fishing, local guides, and the best of the Kenai Peninsula.
The Kenai River is one of the most productive fisheries on Earth. Every summer, millions of salmon return to these waters — kings, sockeye, silvers, and pinks — alongside resident rainbow trout and Dolly Varden char. As a Kenai River fishing lodge in Sterling, Alaska, we sit right on the banks of the middle Kenai, where the fishing is consistent and the scenery is unmatched. Our riverfront cabins put you steps from the water, so your day starts with coffee on the deck and ends with fish stories around the fire pit.
Sterling is just a three-hour drive south of Anchorage on the scenic Seward Highway and Sterling Highway — one of the most beautiful road trips in North America. Once you arrive, you have easy access to guided river trips, ocean fishing charters out of Seward and Homer, fly-out adventures to remote streams, and everything else the Kenai Peninsula has to offer. Whether you come for a long weekend or a full week, Marlow's is the home base that ties it all together.
WORLD-CLASS FISHING
From king salmon to trophy trout to barn-door halibut — we'll build your dream itinerary with the best local guides and charters.
RIVERFRONT CABINS
Four cozy cabins steps from the Kenai River, with our outdoor kitchen and large bar as your gathering place after the day's catch.
EASY ACCESS TO EVERYTHING
Minutes from Soldotna's restaurants, grocery stores, and services. Wilderness setting with all the conveniences nearby.
EASY TO GET HERE, HARD TO LEAVE
YOUR GATEWAY TO THE Kenai
Marlows gives you the freedom to explore the Kenai Peninsula your way — with a cozy riverside cabin waiting when you get back.
Getting here is straightforward. Fly into Anchorage's Ted Stevens International Airport, pick up a rental car, and head south on the Seward Highway — one of America's most scenic drives. The route follows Turnagain Arm through the Chugach Mountains before cutting west on the Sterling Highway into the heart of the Kenai Peninsula. The full drive is about three hours, and most guests say it's one of the highlights of the trip.
Sterling sits on the middle Kenai River, roughly 15 minutes from Soldotna and 30 minutes from Kenai — giving you easy access to both river and ocean fishing without the congestion of the larger towns. As a Sterling, Alaska fishing lodge, we're ideally positioned for day trips to Seward (ocean charters and Kenai Fjords National Park), Homer (halibut capital of the world), and Cooper Landing (world-class fly fishing on the upper Kenai). The Kenai Peninsula offers some of the most diverse outdoor recreation in Alaska, and Marlow's puts you right in the middle of it all.

THE RIVER
ONE OF THE WORLD'S
GREAT FISHERIES
The Kenai River is Alaska's most famous fishing destination — and for good reason. This 82-mile glacial river drains the Kenai Mountains and flows into Cook Inlet, creating a corridor of incredibly productive habitat for salmon, trout, and char. It holds the world record for king salmon at 97.25 pounds, caught in 1985, and continues to produce some of the largest chinook salmon on the planet. For anglers, there are few rivers anywhere that match what the Kenai delivers season after season.
The fishing calendar runs from May through October, with each month bringing a different target species. King salmon arrive first in May and June, drawing anglers from around the world for a shot at a trophy chinook. Sockeye salmon flood the river in July by the millions — the Kenai's sockeye runs are among the largest in Alaska, and combat fishing on the banks is a rite of passage for first-time visitors. Silver salmon push in from August through September, offering aggressive strikes and acrobatic fights that make them a favorite among fly anglers and spin fishers alike.
Pink salmon return on even-numbered years, adding another option during mid-summer. And once the salmon runs taper off in September and October, the Kenai transforms into a world-class trophy trout fishery. Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden char gorge on salmon eggs and flesh, growing fat and strong in the nutrient-rich water. Fall trophy trout season is one of the Kenai's best-kept secrets — fewer crowds, stunning fall colors, and the chance to land a rainbow trout over 30 inches.
Sterling sits on the middle Kenai, a stretch known for its wadeable banks, productive drift boat water, and consistent fishing pressure that stays manageable compared to the lower river near Soldotna. Marlow's on the Kenai puts you right on this stretch — fish from our private docks in the morning, then head out with a guide for a full-day drift or a fly-out to a remote stream. It's the kind of access that turns a fishing trip into something you talk about for years.
A HOME BASE WITH VIEWS
FOUR COZY CABINS
ON THE KENAI
Four fully furnished cabins on the banks of the Kenai River. Each cabin features a kitchen, river views, and is steps from our outdoor gathering area with a 12-seat wrap-around bar, big-screen TV, and grill.
These aren't bare-bones fish camp bunks. Our Kenai River cabins are comfortable, clean, and fully equipped with everything you need for a real stay — full kitchens with cookware and utensils, private bathrooms, comfortable beds, heat, and Wi-Fi. Each riverfront cabin rental includes access to private fishing docks on the Kenai, so you can fish from the property anytime the mood strikes.
Between the cabins, you'll find our outdoor gathering area — the social hub of the lodge. It's where groups swap fish stories over cold drinks, grill the day's catch, and watch the river roll by. Four cabins total — three sleep four guests each and one sleeps six, for a total capacity of 18. Book all four for a private lodge buyout and the entire property is yours.

WHY MARLOWS
WE HANDLE THE DETAILS.
YOU MAKE THE MEMORIES.
From airport to ocean and everything in between, the Marlow family is here to make your Alaska fishing trip easy and unforgettable.
25+ YEARS ON THE KENAI
The Marlow family has lived on these banks for over two decades. That kind of local knowledge is hard to come by — we know which guides deliver, which runs are hitting, and where to send you based on conditions that change by the day. Our relationships with the best charter captains and river guides on the peninsula mean you get priority access during peak season.
WE PLAN EVERYTHING
Tell us what species you want to target, how many days you have, and what else is on your bucket list — we'll handle the rest. We book your guided river trips, ocean charters, fly-out adventures, and any add-ons like glacier hikes or wildlife tours. All gear is included on guided trips, so you can fly in with just your clothes and we'll get you on the water.
CONVENIENCE WITHOUT COMPROMISE
Our Sterling, Alaska location gives you the best of both worlds. You're on a quiet stretch of the Kenai River surrounded by spruce forest, but Soldotna is just 15 minutes away with full-service grocery stores, restaurants, tackle shops, and a hospital. It's a true wilderness setting without the isolation that comes with remote fly-in lodges.
SMALL LODGE, BIG EXPERIENCES
With just four cabins and a maximum of 18 guests, Marlow's is a boutique fishing lodge where you'll never feel like a number. Our 4.94 rating reflects the personal attention that only a small, family-run operation can provide. Book the entire property for your group and it becomes your own private Alaska fishing retreat — perfect for reunions, corporate outings, or milestone trips.
FISH FROM YOUR FRONT DOOR
Our cabins sit just 50 feet from the Kenai River, each with access to private fishing docks. Cast a line from the bank before breakfast or after your guided trip — no boat required. During sockeye season, you can limit out without ever leaving the property. It's the kind of access most lodges can only talk about.
COOK YOUR CATCH
Every cabin has a full kitchen, and our outdoor gathering area features a large grill and 12-seat bar — the perfect setup for cooking the day's catch. We provide a fish cleaning station on-site so you can process your fish and have it vacuum-sealed for the trip home or fire up the grill for the freshest salmon dinner you'll ever eat.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
OUR REVIEWS
What a great place! First time to Alaska and we can't wait to go again. In fact we have our next trip scheduled to stay at Marlows! Beautiful - right on the river but safe for kids. We had 13 of us including 7 kids and we had so much fun. Fishing right off the dock - the staff at Marlows had the gear ready - taught us the technique and helped with the fish. The cabins were great. Lots of room to all be together. Highly recommend.
Marlow's on the Kenai was perfect for our Alaskan fishing trip. We were there five days and were always attended to with a friendly and accommodating staff. Units were clean, comfortable and sized well for our group. On our next visit we will plan to stay there again and recommend them to anyone else doing the same.
Had the opportunity to spend about a week at Marlow's with my Dad and good buddies. Caught our salmon limit everyday no problem. Being right on the river was an amazing experience, bald eagles flying around and even saw moose on the property. Can't wait to go back!
We hosted a business retreat (16 people) and had a wonderful time! Plenty of room and fun for everyone. This is a hidden gem right on the Kenai River.
My wife and I enjoyed a week at one of their cozy cabins. The location and accommodations were awesome. We caught salmon right out our front door on the Kenai river. Looking forward to going back every year.
Awesome experience. The area is beautiful and my grandkids had a ball. They were able to catch fish from the docks.
